+ What shows are available for licensing?

Currently VHS Christmas Carol, The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Firebringer, The Trail To Oregon, and Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier are available. If you're interested in licensing any other StarKid shows, we unfortunately don't have a timeline for when those rights will be available!

+ How much does licensing a show cost?

It costs $220 per performance for any show, with the exception of VHS Christmas Carol, which costs $100 per performance because it is a show with a single 45-50 minute act.

+ Are there versions that are, ummm… more appropriate for my school?

Yes! We have School-Friendly versions of VHS Christmas Carol, The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Firebringer and The Trail To Oregon. While Twisted doesn't have a pre-edited School-Friendly version, you have permission to edit the book and score as you see fit for your cast and audience.

+ Do you have backing tracks?

Yes! We currently have backing tracks for all shows that we license. Backing tracks are availale for $75 per performance for every show with the exception of VHS Christmas Carol, whose tracks are available for $50 per performance.

+ How does the licensing process work?

Once you submit your licensing request (below) you will receive a contract via Docusign. Once the contract is signed by both you (the Licensee) and StarKid, you will be invoiced via PayPal. Once the invoice is paid, the licensed materials will be delivered digitally.

+ How will we be invoiced?

We currently invoice everything through Paypal, though you don't need a Paypal account to pay! You can pay with any credit or debit card, or by any other method that Paypal allows.

+ How do we get the materials?

Once we have a signed contract and payment, we will deliver a digital version of the book and score (and backing tracks if purchased).

+ Can we adjust the size/make-up of the cast?

Expanding ensembles or splitting up character tracks that were originally played by one actor is almost always ok! And changing gender representation to fit your group is almost always ok as well, however, we do want to be sure that we preserve the intention of the authors when it comes to the representation of some of our characters. If you have questions about changing the size/make-up of your cast, please reach out to your StarKid respresentative!

+ Can we perform outside the U.S.?

Yes! There have already been many international productions of StarKid shows, and we hope to have many more. Our only wish is that we could see them all!

+ Can we translate the material?

Yes! While we don't have any official translations of our material available, you are welcome to translate and perform the material yourself in your native language.

+ Are perusals available?

Yes! Please reach out via the "I Have More Questions" button below.

+ We don't have a location or dates set for our production, but we know we want to do it! Should we still submit a licensing request.

NO! We will not proceed with any licensing request where the production details are not set in stone. This allows us to have an accurate picture of where and when our productions are occuring.

Do you have a question not listed above that you’d like answered before your make your licensing request? Then please feel free to reach out to us using the β€œI have more questions” button.
